Typical Applications
- Detection
of Hot Metal or Hot Product in a Rod Mill, Bar Mall, Hot Strip Mill
or other Steel Mill and Industrial Applications.
The Model 9100
All-in-One Remote Hot Metal Detector Sensor is activated by the infrared
energy radiating from hot metal or hot product.
This robust sensor is impervious to water or steam and built to withstand the harshest
mill environments.
To accommodate variation in product temperature and background radiation, six specific
infrared (IR) thresholds are selectable by internal DIP switch. All the end user has to select prior to installation is the appropriate lens.
Utilization of
armored fiber optic lead allows the
remote mounted lens to be installed in high ambient close to the process line with
the controller mounted in a safe accessible area.
All
remote lenses incorporate filters to
minimize sensitivity
to extraneous light.
A wide variety of
remote lenses are available. Impervious to water or steam and built to
withstand the harshest environments. Used in conjunction with flexible
armored fiber optic leads, these lenses provide a high level of optical
accuracy by allowing the selection of the ideal lens arrangement for the
installation. A wide variety of lens holders are available
including a air cooled, air purged and water cooled.
