Description
The LT2000 Laser Distance Meters work
based on comparative phase measurement. To achieve this, it emits
visible laser beams in different frequencies. The target being measured
returns diffused reflected light that is subsequently compared with a
reference signal. Finally, a microprocessor uses this recorded phase
shift to calculate a required distance with mm accuracy.
Equipped with a powerful microprocessor, these Laser Distance
Measurement Meters are able to handle a variety of measurement tasks.
The LT2000 is extremely versatile and can be programmed to operate in
various modes either manually or automatically, using a PC or a host
computer or as a stand alone device.
Distance measurement can be accomplished in various modes of operation:
1. Manually with a PC using Hyperterminal, a terminal emulation program
or the provided software tool via the serial interface
2. Manually with a PC or PLC transmitting ASCII characters via the
serial interface
3. Automatically as a stand alone device in the Autostart mode
4. Continuously by selecting distance tracking mode
5. Remotely controlled with external triggering
5. Remotely controlled via the serial interface
6. Manually using the optional ProfiBus DP, SSI, DeviceNet or Ethernet
Interface
Distance measurement can be monitored in different ways:
1. Using the 4 – 20 mA Analog Output
2. Data transfer using the RS232 serial interface
3. Data transfer using the RS422 serial interface
4. Data transfer using the optional ProfiBus DP, SSI, DeviceNet or
Ethernet Interface
